You’ve finished your 200-hour teacher training. Now what?

You already have a lot of information to process. We think what is necessary for you to move forward is the opportunity to integrate that information into your teaching — to develop your own style and voice as a teacher. Our 300-hour training will offer you the guidance of experienced teachers in a very small, individualized setting focused on the art of teaching yoga, so you will have the chance to bring all that you’ve learned about practicing Yoga to your classes.

You will have the opportunity to ask questions, get honest feedback, discuss goals and fears, hone your skills and develop your unique strengths as a teacher. We are capping this training at nine students, so it’s guaranteed to be extremely individualized.

For non-Yoga High 200-hour graduates, the application process will require an interview. Please email info@yogahighnyc.com to start the process.

Here’s what it will look like:

The 300-Hour training consists of two months of deep study with Yoga High owners Liz Buehler Walker and Mel Russo and senior teacher Patricia Milder. **New development! We are now offering each 2-month section as a non-certificate, stand-alone continuing ed immersion (you still must have completed a 200-Hour certification). Each section costs $1,300 and does not require that you are teaching your own classes, although you are encouraged to do so and bring questions to your mentor meeting each week.

Mentoring with Patricia — Pranayama and Meditation — January/February 2013
Patricia will work with you on maintaining and deepening your own meditation practice so you can teach guided meditation and be a more connected, grounded Asana teacher. You will learn specific guided meditations and pranayama practices.
Mentoring with Mel — How to Teach Beginners and Mixed Levels — March/April 2013
Mel works with you on how to hone your teaching skills so you are able to be completely present and teach directly to the people in front of you in each class with an authentic and clear voice. She helps you find your voice as a teacher and also challenges you to evaluate your teaching and make changes where necessary so you never stop becoming a better teacher.
Mentoring with Liz — Reading the body and Teaching Privates — May/June 2013
In Liz’s section she will teach you how to observe the body to find injuries and imbalances both physically and energetically. You will also learn specific exercises to give in private sessions addressing those imbalances, broken down by parts of the body.

**You will be observing your mentor’s classes and meeting with her in your small trainee group once a week. Throughout the training you will also be planning and teaching your own class once a week; community classes are available for teaching at Yoga High. You will have the invaluable opportunity to discuss anything challenging that has come up during your weekly class with your mentor and group. You will also complete a final project, to be discussed in the training, based on your Yogic interests and talents, something that will be fulfilling and insightful to you as a Yogi and teacher.

We want this training to be helpful and supportive to you as you begin or continue your career as a Yoga teacher.

We are planning a 300-Hour training January – June 2013. Mentor meetings will be held on Friday afternoons for a 2-Hour time slot somewhere between 12-4pm (depending on your mentor’s schedule). You must be a certified 200-hour Yoga Teacher from Yoga High or another Yoga school to participate. The price is $3500 (payment plans and early bird discounts available) and includes unlimited classes for the months we are in session. If you are interested in doing this highly individualized training, please email info@yogahighnyc.com and come to the information meeting on Dec 7th at 1:30pm.
